Interested in knitting but don’t know where to start? This is the class for you! Join Susan B. Anderson, your expert guide to knitting, as she teaches you how to make three cozy accessories — a pair of hand warmers, a bulky cowl, and a pom-pom hat — from getting your first stitches on the needles to finishing your projects, with troubleshooting tips and much more. Explore two different knitting styles, Continental and English, and decide which one you prefer!

Learn to Knit: My First Scarf (1h 47m)
Have you been looking for the right chance to pick up those needles? Join instructor and designer Caddy Melville Ledbetter to start your knitting journey with support and success! During class, you’ll get acquainted with the basics of knitting, and learn to knit a scarf – a cute, approachable project perfect for honing your new skills. Caddy will help you choose which needles and yarn are right for the projects you want to make. Then, it’s time to stitch! As you knit, you’ll learn how to cast on with ease, avoid and fix mistakes and achieve a clean finish – from binding off to beautiful blocking. Plus, learn about swatching, the purl stitch and pattern-reading basics. Right-handed or left-handed, if you’re new to knitting, this class will put you on track for exciting projects and a brand new passion!

Learn to Knit: My First Hat (2h 0m)
Are you ready to step out of the world of flat knits and into a new, circular frontier of possibility? Circular knitting doesn’t have to be scary. With the right step-by-step guidance you’ll be knitting in the round with confidence and ease sooner than you think! Join instructor and designer Caddy Melville Ledbetter and learn the essentials you need to triumph in the round. During class, you’ll create a cute hat — an approachable in-the-round project that’s perfect for honing your new circular knitting skills. Learn how to pick the right yarn for potential projects and how to simplify pattern instructions as you read. Caddy will show you how to start with the long-tail cast-on, join to knit and purl in the round, work basic decreases and add extras such as earflaps for a fabulous final touch. Your knitting journey is just beginning; start that journey with a smashing success!

My First Socks (2h 58m)
Learn how to knit socks with designer and author Lucy Neatby. Find out how to cast on with perfect tension. Knit in the round using your favorite method and choose one of four style variations for your ribbed cuff. Work your sock leg in stockinette with no gaps, before creating a heel flap that’s shaped to curve gently around the back of your foot. Finish the sides of your heel flap, and decrease in the round until you reach your original number of stitches. Get the perfect foot length, and shape the toe for a great fit using a technique that makes grafting a breeze. Finish your socks with techniques for closing holes, fixing any imperfect stitches and more. Knit cute, cozy socks you can’t wait to pull on.
