Project

Wisteria Thick and Thin Scarf

74 total ends for 9.25” width in the 8-dent reed. 8-12-8-18-8-12-8 starting with the thicker worsted weight yarn and alternating with the thinner/fingering weight yarn across, ending with worsted weight . Warp is run at ~ 96” to re-construct the handpainted sequence of colors in the Wisteria yarn. Weft is a fine 30/2/4 tencel thread. I found that I had to wind cardboard between the layers of completed weaving on the cloth beam to help with the differential in warp tension take up between the thicker and thinner areas.
