Copy from Pattern review I wrote. Pattern Description: From the envelope - Lined, fit and flare coat has collar variations, princess seams, optional sleeve heading, side-front pockets and two-piece sleeves. Peter pan collar. Sleeve slit. Pattern Sizing: US sizes 6 to 14, EU 34 to 42 (I guess). I started with size 10 for upper part and then slightly graded in some seams for waist and hips. (thank for finished garment measurements for chest, waist AND hips) Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes, exactly. Were the instructions easy to follow? I didn't follow instruction since I followed Craftsy course with S. Lincecum. But as I read instruction, they seams to be good and easy to follow. What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I love the pocket detail, it gives opportunity I didn't take to decent embellishing. I don't know about the sleeve vent, if I like it or not, seems to be bit unpractical in really cold weather but it is nice neat detail. I don't like much low cut of neckline. It't to low for winter coat. Fabric Used: Cream colored wool coating I got from my colleague so I don't know exact composition but it seams it is at least 80 % wool, maybe 100 %. Lining is printed rayon. I used polyester bias binding. I used about 3,3 m of woollen coating and about 2,5 m of lining. I had to use bit of hand sewing in this areas because my sewing machine couldn't handle so many layers in tricky areas. I put the collar in like was suggested in course and it came out nicely, although there was about 6 or 8 layers of thick woollen coating in some areas, my Janome handled it great and it seems to me it is much sturdier than it would be had I followed pattern instructions. Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I made Chinese wedding pocket as suggested in Craftsy course and use cotton flannel as interlining for all pattern pieces except collar and interfaced ones. I shortened torso by 3,5 cm and added 1 cm to each pattern piece in side seam and 0,5 cm to side back seam of central back pattern piece. I went fot length between B and A with Peter pan collar. I used fusible interfacing for coats, type which is accessible in my country and it seams that it is weft interfacing. I made piping around lining edges and as I wanted coat loop I made upper part of central back piece of lining from woollen coating to reinforce it. I didn't use silk velvet for upper collar as I don't know where to buy it for reasonable price and in matching color. I'm thinking about couple of detachable collars from faux fur. Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I'm not sure if I'll sew it again, I have already to many coats . But maybe I'll use the pocket detain to frankiepattern it. And I'll definitely recommend this pattern. It isn't exactly easy but it's not very difficult. Conclusion: Craftsy course is awesome. I suppose I'll have hard time to put pocket together and the sleeve vents. The coat is nice part of winter wardrobe and very feminine.
