You are so kind! Thank you so much :) I started with McCall's 6896, and did a lot of alterations to remove the amount of flare at the bottom. I started by shaving 1 inch off each side of the hemline on the panels, and blending it up toward the waist. After that, I made a muslin and did some drape fitting, removing more excess fabric from the side seams near the hemline. In hindsight, it probably would've been easier to just start with a bodice block & convert the darts to princess seams, but it was fun experimenting with the pattern.
