Chinoiserie Bergere Chair

Cynthia is a fabulous instructor; as someone trained in education i have high standards and Cynthia delivered in spades with not only great content delivery skills but, also a friendly and positive disposition! I have previously completed a project based course and whilst this Craftsy course wasn't as advanced as I wanted, it still did provide opportunity for learning. I started with a mass produced commercially upholstered bergere chair; rip down was an eye opener of low grade commercial materials! Jute webbing, hessian, high density foam and bonded dacron was used to reupholster the chair. With two constantly shedding and drooling chocolate labrador retrievers i needed to be practical at the front; a navy cotton canvas fitted the bill. A cotton chinoisery geometric pattern was used on the back to add contrast and self double welt finished it off.
