Q&A with Irene Valle // Serger Pepper Designs
I have a vintage pattern with the same angled curved inset as this dress you made. I am looking for more detailed instructions than the vintage pattern offers. Could you point me to where I could find it on the internet. All I know it is called a hour glass panel line and is a variation on the princess seam. No where in a sewing manual can I find more clear instructions. Woud be appreciated.
Irene Valle // Serger Pepper Designs answered:
I would just sew it like a regular double pointed dart, pivoting at the pointy middle-way spot.
Depending on the fabric you're using, you might need to trim out a little of the seam allowance in correspondence of this point, to release a little bit of tension.
I hope this helps!
