Pattern Details

I have used a purse organizer for years. I love the convenience of simply whipping it out and tossing it into another bag without worrying about whether I have every doodad that I need with me. When I discovered all of those purse organizer patterns online, I knew I would eventually come up with one of my own. Therefore, this is the first contribution from the "designer" side of me: a two tone purse organizer that features pockets of varying heights (hence the name). Enjoy! (And check out my blog post on this item to see why you'll love it.) BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY A beginner project, but you should be able to handle sewing along a bit of a curve! Also should know how to handle fusible interfacing SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS Completed organizer is 20.5" wide by 4.25" high

Recommended with this pattern

  • matching thread
  • a piece of fusible stabilizer or interfacing (I used my supply of Dcor Bond) cut to a slightly smaller size
  • two pieces of coordinating fabric (exterior and lining; you can, of course, use the same fabric if you prefer); 22" x 8.5" each

A budding seamstress in my younger years, I abandoned the hobby for three decades. Then I discovered that people sewed "stuff" other than clothes and quilts. What an eye-opener! The discovery led to me to take a personal sewing journey... one that has seen me progress from student to designer. P.S. This shop used to carry 30 patterns — most of them free.
