I liked the functionality of the cover stands available on Amazon, but I wanted mine to be made by me and in designer fabrics, so I spent hours (lots of them) to figure out how make a professional looking cover stand for my kindle fire. If you are like me, you will love this case. This does not fit the new HD Kindle Fire. I will release a new pattern for that one. This pattern only fits the original Kindle Fire. This cozy also functions as a stand for your Kindle Fire, so you can watch a movie, read, or play games on a table top, hands free. Your Kindle Fire remains functional while in this clever cozy. There is an opening in the bottom for the charger and head phones to plug in. There are openings in the top for the speakers. The screen cover folds back, you re-attach the velcro closure inside out, and voila, you have a stand! This cover is not meant to protect against dropping the kindle fire. It just makes it soft and pretty to hold and the stand is greatly useful. This listing is for the sewing pattern. The case is designed exclusively for the Kindle Fire. I will do more patterns sized for the ipad, nook, etc. BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY This is my most advanced pattern. All of the steps are thoroughly explained, and you really just need to know how to use your own sewing machine, but some of the steps take a little longer than my usual sewing projects. It may be obvious that such a professional product would take more skill than other things, but I wanted to be clear on that. SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS Sized specifically to fit the Kindle Fire only. I do have more coming out for the other e-readers. This does not fit the new Kindle Fire HD. There is a new pattern coming for that.
