Project

Wonderland - Quilt

I designed the layout myself. I was inspired by "New York Beauty" quilts and I always wanted to make a quilt in rainbow colours. Two patterns (rocking horse + Alice and doorknob - this one I changed a bit) are from www.fandominstitches.com and the bright star is from http://627handworks.com/2013/03/block-rockn-week-1-bowie/. The other ones are my own. I used Inkscape to create the Layout and the paper piecing patterns. It was fun to make this quilt. As you can see, I'm better in piecing than in quilting. But I like the result and I'm glad that I've done free motion quilting despite the fact that I normally use the walking foot. I stick with Angela: "Close enough, is good enough.". The size is approximately 66x88 inches.

blukitty answered:
Thank you <3. Maybe you're right :D.
Cat Sultan asked:
Wow this is so much FUN! Did you design the Cheshire cat looking smiley face? That was the first thing that caught my eye.
blukitty answered:
Thank you :). Yes, I did. But I want to give credit to this great pattern -> https://www.craftsy.com/quilting/patterns/halloween-cat-eyes-paper-piecing/215766?cr_linkid=pin-share&cr_source=Pinterest&cr_medium=Social%2BReferral&cr_maid=41573, which was a basis for my cat's eyes. I love the Cheshire Cat and it should be a highlight of the quilt.
Minx asked:
