Strip City

this top looks so easy, but is challenging to match up diagonal seams and deal with bias. each strip set makes 2 blocks, plus 2 extra HSTs (or , 1/2 block). I decided to use my "extras" to make another row, thus making the blanket 5 x6 (block units). and, I still have enough to make 2 & 1/2 blocks (they'll be for practice).

Hello! Beautiful project! Most of what I'm looking at, I love the design but not necessarily the colors used. Any ideas how to modify? Thank you! Angie
Gray La Gran answered:
The pattern is free, and has all the fabric requirements. All you need to do is use a different jelly roll and a different background color. You could even use your scraps and cut a bunch of random 2.5" strips. I love the blues and look forward to trying out Angela's quilting on it.

Hi! How did you press the seams so they would nest? I’m just starting this project and having trouble! It says to press to one side, then to the dark, but they never match and yours look great! Any tips? Thanks!!
Gray La Gran answered:
Hi ! I actually pressed seams open and matched points by using a pin through both layers and then pinned both sides. Not ideal, and slow. But I wanted to make sure I didn’t lop off any tips.
