I used Craftsy's New Age Muslin fat quarter bundle to make this extra large lap quilt.
Q&A with SueHof
Love your quilt! It looks so soft and comfortable. Would you mind sharing the pattern name? If your own design, would you share the finished size of your blocks and the finished size of the strips that are inner-cut/pieced into the Block? Also, the finished size of the quilt since I’m curious how large a quilt the 26 FQs will make. Thanks in advance. Again, lovely quilt.
Thank you for your complement. The name of the pattern is "Cranberry Chutney". I think you can find it using Google. The finished squares are 8 inches and the finished strips are 1/2 inch. The quilt size is 64 X 72. I think I had two fat quarters left over.
Thanks so much for your prompt response. Because of your quilt and all the high ratings for the fabric, I ordered two FQ bundles of the Marcus Aged Muslin. I have now ordered the pattern and do appreciate your willingness to share information. Look forward to making the quilt and can only hope that it is as lovely and cozy as yours. Thank you!
I am sure you will enjoy making the quilt. The pattern allows a certain level of creativity as to where and how many strips you insert. The fabric is different from regular quilting cotton, but very nice and nets a good result. Happy quilting!!!
How is it different? Looser weave?
Not really. The weave is tight. The fabric is very nice, washes and irons well.

I love what you did with my fav fabric that I don’t have yet. I want it now more than ever. Beautiful job.
I think you will love making it. I gave mine to charity and they were thrilled to have a quilt that would work well for either a boy or a girl.
Sue, the quilt is just beautiful!! Did you use just one fat quarter pack, or two? What kind of batting should I use? Any other tips? Thank you for your reply.
Hi Kathryn - thanks for the compliment. I used one fat quarter pack. I don't think it matters what kind of batting you use. I believe I used an 80/20 blend. You will love the fabrics. Just enjoy the journey....
