Q&A with Caroline Fairbanks-Critchfield

grandmaof10 asked:
Can this tree skirt be many in other sizes or just the size made for the class? Thanks Nancy Murdoch
Caroline Fairbanks-Critchfield answered:
Due to time restraints (this is only a mini-class - that's why it's so inexpensive), we were only able to show how to make 1 size. But that's a great idea. I will try to show how to adapt the pattern for other sizes on my blog soon!
kdm123 asked:
What is the size of this tree skirt?
Caroline Fairbanks-Critchfield answered:
Approximately 50'' across.
yarnovermatter asked:
What is the length of the longest strip of fabric needed for this project (prior to trimming or sewing)? The kit is sold out & I'm trying to see if my existing stash will be adequate. Thank you, & thanks for offering such a lovely project in a class format!
Caroline Fairbanks-Critchfield answered:
Hi! This pattern is sewn from 36 strips that are 2 1/2'' wide and 40'' long. The strips are sewn together in sets first, and then cut into the blade shape above. You will need a total of 2 1/2 yards of fabric in as many prints as possible. Fat quarters will not work since you need 40'' long strips. A jelly roll bundle with 36 or more strips is perfect. Good luck!
