Longarm Training Panel - Natalia Bonner

I loved Natalia's class and I was attracted to the panel she was using so I ordered my own so I could try out some various designs without having to piece a quilt top (I don't like piecing but I LOVE free motion quilting!). I wasn't able to get the colors to be exactly the same as hers, but they ended up good enough :-) I quilted this on my sit down longarm machine using free motion and some ruler work. I opted for light grey thread because I knew I would want the color to blend in the solid grey border, but part way through I regretted that decision and wished I had just gone with the off white So Fine thread I first considered. I switched to white for the background in the top and bottom sections. Overall it was loads of fun to do and I like having it to hang up in my studio to give clients and students an idea of the various options they have when choosing stitching designs. It was such a good practice opportunity that I did a second one when I got my new full frame longarm so I could learn to control it in various directions - but I'm not posting that one! LOL I go back to Natalia's class over and over again because it is such a great resource.
