Q&A with Debbie DeFelice

mmccracken@ncool.net asked:
Do you have to mark squares?
Debbie DeFelice answered:
Yes I did. Draw a diagonal line from one corner to corner. Then place a dark color square to a light color square, sew a 1/4 inch, cut along the drawn diagonal , press seams open. It works and goes very fast and accurate .
bmcknight19732177 asked:
I received the purple backing and an extra yard of the black forest batik but the instructions don't tell me what I'm supposed to do with it. If it is supposed to be the binding, I am disappointed because the pictures show the trim as a bright green. I would prefer it to look like the photographs because I dislike black so much that I am forcing myself to put the black triangles in the cover of the quilt. I certainly don't want it on the binding too!
Debbie DeFelice answered:
The purple is for the backing and the black is for the blinding. Here is what I would do. Make the quilt top. Put your quilt together with the three levels, top, your batting, and the purple backing. If you are careful you should have some leftover backing and I would use that for your binding. If not you can buy 1 yard of color you like. The purple will look just as good on that Kaleidoscope quilt. I hope that helps you!
