This table runner by Quiltworx was my first try at paper piecing on a larger scale (I made a pillow during the class "Mastering Foundation Paper Piecing" with Carol Doak). The instructions were overwhelming at first, but I found a Youtube video by Quiltworx that demonstrated how to prepare the pattern pieces, organize the cut fabric, etc., which helped immeasurably. I did the quilting using both my walking foot and my free motion quilting foot. I am not very experienced at free motion, so I chose a relatively simple curved design for the red sections. I tried to replicate the quilting done on the photo example for the yellow suns, which was a flower petal-shape. Otherwise, I used straight lines on the rest. I purchased a blue kit of the same pattern and will tackle it with less trepidation now that I've successfully completed the first one. I'm really happy with the finished table runner!
