Q&A with Cyndi Souder

mastacio42855589 asked:
How do you put the string in you machine
Cyndi Souder answered:
Mastacio, every machine is a little different. Read your manual for the specifics for your machine. Some machines have little arrows that help, but there's no substitute for reading your manual. You can learn more about threading your machine in lesson 2 of my class here: http://www.craftsy.com/ext/CyndiSouder_8948_F"
gmakitty asked:
being new to quilting I hear the term walking foor what it its function and what does it loo like
Cyndi Souder answered:
gmakitty, Great question. I devote a lot of time to the mighty walking foot in lesson 6 of my class here: http://www.craftsy.com/ext/CyndiSouder_8948_F"
gmakitty asked:
I guess I missed something I thot I inquired abput the walking foot ....still don't understand it... when is it used and why/Kitty
Cyndi Souder answered:
Kitty, the walking foot is a special presser foot for your machine. Just as the feed dogs move your fabric from the bottom, the walking foot moves your fabric from the top. This helps keep the layers of fabric from shifting. To truly understand all that the walking foot can do for you (more than I can explain here) I recommend my class on mastering your machine (http://www.craftsy.com/ext/CyndiSouder_8948_F) or Jackie Gering's class, Creative Quilting with your Walking Foot (http://www.craftsy.com/ext/cyndisouder_562_CP). These links will take you to the pages where you can sign up to learn much more about walking feet. I hope this helps. Cyndi
