Bright and colorful or quiet and low volume. Two entirely different quilts can be made by choosing different fabrics and one of two sizes. Each of these two quilts is made from nine fat quarters of fabric and extra yardage for sashings and an optional border. Both quilts are made with one easy, basic block. The most complicated parts of the process are cutting accurately and stitching with exact 1/4" seams. The basic block is so versatile that numerous projects can be made from it. Three blocks in a row would make a great table runner, while four blocks in a square could make a perfectly sized table topper or baby quilt.
