Both my menfolk have hearty appetites and so tables, plates and the number of pots used at mealtimes tend to be correspondingly large. I needed a big table runner to accommodate the pots, so here it is! The pattern I've listed here shows the tropical colourway but I've included instructions for two other colourways ('spring' and 'olive') which I've shown in another photo. The possibilities are pretty endless as regards colour combinations for this pattern - let your imagination run riot! ALSO As an extra bonus, I've included a FREE pattern for matching placemats, which includes the quantities of fabric required to make just one. So you can multiply these up to make as many as you need! I only ever use simple techniques in my patterns and I break everything down into small 'units' to make the process of creating these designs as pleasurable and easy as possible. Therefore a not-very-experienced quilter should be able to manage this design without too much trouble. BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY Basic piecing techniques, flying geese, quarter square triangles, square-within-a-square, point matching SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS 34" x 66"

Recommended with this pattern

  • The usual cutting equipment, it can be sewn by hand or machine
  • Usual threads, wadding and backing

My grandmother had a needle in my hand before I knew what one was, and it's sort of gone on from there. I now spend my time between the UK and France, using the beauty of both countries to inspire me. I am on Facebook, where I post quite often on the Quilting Bee group page, or there is also a 'general' Modern Welsh Quilts group page where we share gossip on just about everything, not just quilting! I do have a website if would like to find out a bit more about me and the Llynfi valley tradition of quilting which is my 'native' style - Look forward to seeing you - we Welsh like to chat :-)
