Spools of thread growing on a vine! Oh, how I would love to have a "spool vine"! Pretty thread is my weakness, and like many quilters, I have a collection of every color and type imaginable. This mug rug was originally designed as a quilt block for my "HOME" quilt along wall hanging. When I realized that it was the perfect size for a mug rug I created a separate pattern. The pattern can also be purchased as part of the pair of quilt blocks found in "HOME Quilt Along Blocks 6 and 7". Mug rugs make such quick little decorative projects and they are just the right size to hold a cup or glass of your favorite something to drink and a small snack. Make one or make a bunch, and toss these colorful spools onto your desk or table top for an instant splash of color. Tucked into a cup or slipped into an envelope and dropped in the mailbox, this mini-quilt makes a lovely gift for someone special. This project makes up very quickly, and the pattern is very detailed. There are complete instructions with full size templates and a full size layout plan. Helpful photos and diagrams are strategically placed throughout the pattern. Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have though email or on my Facebook page.
