Pattern Details

Even if milk isn't your drink of choice this fun patchwork cow mug rug will find a place on your table or work desk. There is enough room for a cup and cookie. Alternatively you could add a hanging sleeve or hanging corners to the back and hang this gorgeous little quiltie on the kitchen wall. Like all Patchsmith patterns, this design comes with full colour diagrams, easy-to-follow instructions and full size templates. The pattern also comes with cutting sizes for both a 6" and a 12" patchwork cow block. Note: This pattern is suitable for experienced patchers as it contains quite a few pieces. However, once the cutting is done, the block goes together fairly quickly and the colour diagrams will guide you every step of the way. The functional mug rug uses the 6" patchwork cow block with the addition of quick-fuse scallop borders to create a pretty frame for the block. You could of course, substitute any 6" block as the main focus of the mug rug making this a versatile and economical pattern to add to your library. So join with the Patchsmith today and add a touch of quilted country goodness to your home. This pattern is for personal use but permission is also granted to make this item to sell provided the item is handmade by you and you credit the Patchsmith for the design. No mass production allowed. BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY Stitching a 1/4" seam Accurate cutting SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS Finished block sizes: 6" square and 12" square Size of mug rug before quilting: 9.5" x 6.5"

I am the Patchsmith. I patch, applique, sew and quilt. I have been creating a life of fabric, fun and friends for many, many years. I believe a pattern should be easy to follow, with clear diagrams and full-size templates. Value is also very important to me - both in terms of fabric wastage and to the buyer. Patchwork is about sharing and that is why all my patterns are priced for everybody to afford. To contact me visit my blog ( and click on 'About the Patchsmith' or email me at
