Pattern Details

(Size before quilting: 9½” x 5½”) No celebration is complete with candles. With this simple Patchsmith design you can celebrate with candles every day of the year as you create a fun and functional mug rug for your desk or table. The Celebration Candles mug rug pattern uses an easy quilt-as-you-go method (QAYG) where you stitch and quilt the candles together at the same time. You also quilt the flames as you appliqué them in place so this mug rug can be put together in an hour or two. The finished mug rug is large enough to hold a mug and a cookie but it will also look just as good on a birthday table nestling a few party treats making it the ideal last-minute party gift. Suitable for beginner or experienced quilters alike this mini quilt design can be made using whatever fabrics you have to hand. The design is also ‘charm square’ friendly. The pattern, like all Patchsmith patterns, includes easy-to-follow instructions, colour diagrams and full size appliqué templates. So join with the Patchsmith today and celebrate the fun to be had with fabric and friends. This pattern is for personal use but permission is also granted to make this item to sell provided the item is handmade by you and you credit the Patchsmith for the design. No mass production allowed.

I am the Patchsmith. I patch, applique, sew and quilt. I have been creating a life of fabric, fun and friends for many, many years. I believe a pattern should be easy to follow, with clear diagrams and full-size templates. Value is also very important to me - both in terms of fabric wastage and to the buyer. Patchwork is about sharing and that is why all my patterns are priced for everybody to afford.
