Our 2017 Community Charity Quilt Is Here!

While it’s hard to believe that the 2017 Blazing Star Block of the Month is winding down, we can’t think of a better way to commemorate this special stitched journey than by revealing our fully completed 2017 Community Charity Quilt!

Isn’t she beautiful?

Finished Blazing Star Community Quilt

This quilt, in it all it’s scrappy, mismatched glory, is especially important because it was not only made by you, but because it was made possible by you — our fierce, fabulous Block of the Month community.

We want to give a sincere thank you to all those who contributed blocks: Barb in Indiana, Sally in Maine, Brenda in Virginia, Donna in Minnesota, Sharon in Utah, Christine in Georgia, Darrilyn in South Carolina, Michelle in Texas, Pam in New Hampshire, and more! Everyone’s block add something so special to the quilt.

And of course, we can’t forget the professionals who lent a hand too: Nancy McNally, who designed all the Blazing Star blocks; Monique Dillard, who created the design for our charity quilt; and Nancy Smith, who pieced the quilt top and quilt it. Thank you!

Now, we will be donating the quilt to a cause close to our hearts, Firehouse Quilts of Colorado.

From all of us at Craftsy to you, we thank you so much for participating in this incredibly meaningful project. There will be more like it to come!

Still want to join us?

It’s not too late! Grab your own Block of the Month kit now, and start stitching with designer and instructor Nancy McNally.

is it possible to get the patterns as I live in New Zealand and too far and expensive to send stuff over! Getting worse as because of email the post has been reduced to three times a week! And the increase in postage is prohibitive!

If you go to the top of the page in the quilting blog you’ll see in red print ‘2017 Block of the Month’. At the bottom of that listing you’ll see the option to follow the class – for free! Enjoy! Please share your finished quilt so all of your Craftsy friends can ooh and aah. ?

This quilt really turned out lovely. Compliments to the makers of the donations and the finished product.
I’m not a quilter but am looking at all I can find on information to start.
