Q&A with kdesigns44096753

Linda D 503 asked:
Where can I find a pattern for the hat? How many skeins of the Cloudborn Bulky Baby Alpaca yarn are needed to make both the hat and the scarf?
kdesigns44096753 answered:
The hat pattern was found here on Craftsy, by an independent designer. I used 3 skeins of Cloudborn yarn for both hat & scarf, plus a small amount of multi-hued bulky alpaca left in my stash from a previous project (the hat band). The scarf started with left-over from the hat, then added 2 skeins. There is no pattern for the scarf. I used the stitch pattern from the hat, determined how many repeats I wanted to make the width, then just kept knitting for length until I had just enough yarn to weave in ends. I did at least an inch of rib stitch at both ends to prevent curling. May have also done a couple of stiches garter on each side. But don't really remember now on that. The hat/scarf was a gift for a friend who lives in another state, so I can't go back and look at it. Please note the Cloudborn Alpaca was a solid color - magenta. I wrapped the strands of hand-dyed Angora fiber around the yarn while knitting, to make it a better match for the stash scrap alpaca. The Angora fiber came from my EA doe, Lola Rapunzel. At this time, my Angora fiber isn't for sale, but I do have 2 full 35 qt. containers, and another harvest coming up soon, from both Lola and my old bunny, Angus. I may have to re-evaluate at that point if I want to start new containers, or start selling.
