This sweater was knitted from the neck down. I learned how to do linen stitch for the borders and how to make sure the stitches stayed even with the main body of the sweater. The knit pockets are knit directly onto the sweater, and my Craftsy class on circular knitting gave me the skills for using the magic loop method to make the sleeves. The directions were thorough, although I did have to re-read a few spots to figure out exactly what I was doing. There's a glossary with descriptions of the stitches you need to use, and they were all easily found on YouTube when I didn't understand the written directions.
