Pattern Details

This hat was designed to complement a pair of cable handwarmers. A flattering style to suit most women. This simple beret knits up quickly in chunky weight yarn. The headband is knitted first to fit comfortably around the preferred head circumference. Stitches are picked up from along the edge of the band. The crown is then knitted in the round on double pointed needles or circular needles using the magic loop method. BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY You will need to be able to: knit in the round using your preferred method, either double pointed needles or magic loop, purl, cast on, cast off, make one stitch, make a simple cable (instructions included in pattern), knit two stiches together GAUGE Approx. 14 stitches over 19 rows = 10x10 cm (4x4 inches) in stocking stitch SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS To fit womens head circumference 19 - 23 inches (48 cm - 58 cm).
