Pattern Details

A soft, slouchy cap in five sizes (XS/S/M/L/XL), with bands of airy openwork that provide texture as well as a little ventilation in temperate weather. Worked completely in the round, the garter stitch brim offers a snug fit below to keep the cap in place, but gives way to softly slumping volume above for tucking up long hair; length is easily adjusted if desired. Substituting yarn and/or needles may result in an overall variation in size and elasticity. Finished Size: 16.5(18, 19.5, 21, 22.5) inches in circumference at brim to fit heads measuring up to19.5(21, 22.5, 24, 25.5) inches around Gauge: 22 sts and 32 rows = 4 inches in stockinette on larger needle (knit flat; unblocked)

I am the owner of Knitspot - knitting patterns, clubs, and artisan yarns. I am a life-long knitter with a background in the fashion and graphic design fields, and began designing clothing, knitwear and accessories during the 1970s. I teach and write about knitting, spinning, and designing at my blog, Knitspot. I live and work in Ohio with David, who loves wool, too. My design work/profile has been included in Knitty, The Knitter, Interweave Knits, and Twist Collective, Sock Club, Brave New Knits, as well as several upcoming publications. The complete catalog of Knitspot patterns is available for browsing and purchasing at http://www.knitspot.com/knitting_pattern/index.php Knitspot yarn clubs are reknowned for perfect pairings of luxury yarn and design, as well as the rollicking good fun in our Ravelry clubhouse where members meet, chat, and knit through club projects together. http://www.knitspot.com/clubs/index.html Our Bare Naked yarns are as close to the farm as a knitter can get, using fresh fiber produce from regional growers which is then spun into yarn at smaller artisan mills with which I have worked over the years. The collection is focused on single-breed pure wool yarns and exotic blends, with colors that range an entire array of natural tones—yarn the way nature made it. http://knitspot.com/knitting_pattern/yarn-c-21.html
