Pattern Details

The State Line Blanket knitting pattern design was inspired by one of the most well known streets in my hometown…Kansas City. Half of our city is in Kansas and the other half in Missouri. As the name implies…State Line Road is the dividing line between the states. The State Line Blanket is knit with super bulky weight yarn so it is quick to knit on big needles. Knit flat, in one piece, back and forth on US size 13 or 15 circular knitting needles. DIRECTIONS FOR SIX SIZES: Baby Blanket: 30” wide x 31” long Small Crib/Lap Blanket: 33” wide x 36” long Medium Throw: 37” wide x 46” long Large Throw: 41” wide x 51” long XL Afghan: 45” wide x 56” long XXL Afghan: 49” wide x 61” long It’s easy to make any of the blanket sizes longer by adding additional pattern repeats. Each repeat adds about 5” to the length of the blanket. SUPER BULKY YARN: Baby: 350 - 370 yards Small: 450 - 475 yards Medium: 650 - 680 yards Large: 800 - 830 yards XL: 960 - 1000 yards XXL: 1150 - 1200 yards Pattern includes estimates for additional yardage needed to make blankets longer. You may also experiment with knitting two strands of bulky or worsted weight yarn together…remember you will need about twice as much yardage! SKILL LEVEL: Easy You will need to know how to cast on stitches, knit and purl confidently, bind off stitches and weave in ends. NEEDLES: You may use either US size 13 or 15 knitting needles. Pick the needle size that works best for your yarn and knitting tension. Knit flat, in one piece, back and forth on long circular knitting needles. Circular needles are recommended to accommodate the large number of stitches. GAUGE: Approximate gauge in stockinette stitch (after blocking): 8 stitches & 12 rows = 4” Exact gauge is not essential for this project. This pattern uses standard U.S. knitting terms. Written pattern with row by row instructions. Read more about this pattern on my blog: PREFERRED BRAND/YARN Lion Brand Wool-Ease Thick & Quick COLORWAY Fisherman #99

I have been knitting since I was about 8 years old. My mother taught me to knit and my parents encouraged me to explore all kinds of arts & crafts activities by providing me with the materials that I needed to create. As a girl, I loved to sew (I spent hours using my mother’s sewing machine making clothes for my dolls), knit, draw and paint. In high school I spent all my extra time at school hanging out in the art room. In college I worked at a cute little yarn shop. Many years later...I started designing and publishing knitting patterns in November 2013...I love it! I love giving hand knit gifts to my friends and family. I love to see the smile on their faces when they open the gift I made for them. I hope that you enjoy using my knitting patterns to create special projects for your home, friends & family.
