We at White Lies believe that any time you get dressed is a great time to show off curves. If Spring is in the air, pop on our Shana skirt with a plain white tee and sandals and go forth ready to slay the world. If a chill signals Fall, swap out the sandals for tights, boots and a jean jacket and still you're dressed to kill. Shana's pretty lace panel shows just a teaspoon of skin and the swingy flounce balances out ripe hips for a bombshell silhouette. An elasticized waist is hidden by a drawstring cord tipped with pretty glass leaves. Joan McGowan-Michael has been a professional fashion designer for more 25 years, styling garments for retailers as diverse as Frederick's of Hollywood and JC Penney. She founded her company, White Lies Designs, in 2001. It has since become the original go-to resource for lingerie patterns for hand knitting, and other romantic, vintage inspired knitwear styles in a wide range of sizes from petite to plus. Joan is a self-professed "fit geek" and incorporates dressmaker-style tailoring in many of her styles. You've seen her work in Big Girl Knits, Stitch & Bitch Nation, and The Best of Interweave Knits.
