This reversible cowl is knit in the round in two pieces and then knit together to create a double-thick fabric that gives you extra warmth and wind protection, trapping warmed air in between its layers. The cowl was designed to keep its shape and stay in place where it should be: right around your neck. Houndstooth is such a classic design motif, and I wanted this cowl to highlight a large and a small repeat, both of which look so incredible from a distance. The knit and purl edge at top and bottom finish the piece off elegantly, mimicking a beaded edge. The pattern is one size and requires a 4 mm circular needle (74 cm), as well as two to three skeins of yarn in two contrasting colours. To make this pattern, you should know how to do stranded colorwork and how to knit in the round. BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY Knitting in the round.
