This is a very simple shawl pattern, that can be easily adjusted to different yarn weights and shawl sizes. You will need about 400-500 yards of fingering weight yarn for a full size shawl, more if you use finer yarn. Add as many or as few lace repeats as you like and make it as large as you wish! I think this would look lovely in slightly variegated yarns, too. One of my test knitters had used yarn with long color repeats for lace part and a matching single color yarn for lace sections - the result is beautiful! This is a great pattern to feature an interesting yarn. I believe this pattern is well suited for lace beginners, and it is a relaxing knit for more experienced knitters. Pattern includes written instructions, as well as a chart. BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY knit, purl, yarn over, single and double decrease SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS The size is adjustable.

Recommended with this pattern

  • lace, fingering, sock, sport or DK weight yarn, ~ 400-500 yards of fingering weight will give a full size shawl, size and yardage is adjustable though.
  • circular needles, suitable for your yarn

Knitting and crocheting are an addiction. I love the moment of creation! I have tried a lot of crafts, but these have stayed with me for most of my life. My first project was a dress for my doll at the age of 5 or 6, with some help of my grandmother. It was fairly good in fact, even had a pattern that I remember still. From scarves and vests, I have done sweaters and shawls even at an early age - both crocheted and knitted. Here I have to say big thanks to my mother, who was always a little pushy with me about finishing the projects when I was getting bored with them :) Lately I have developed and addiction to making shawls and scarves. I just love them! I like trying out new techniques and patterns, there is always something I have not done yet I speak (and read) fluent English, Latvian, Greek and Russian, but I will answer my messages in English or Latvian.
