PATTERN DETAILS

Boxed Set is a baby-sized cloth for monumental messes. Featuring squares within squares, Boxed Set is a simple cloth based on a simple, traditional dishcloth pattern. It's worked on the bias, and is great for practicing a variety of increases and decreases - as well as chart reading. Make a set of cloths and pair them with your favorite picture book for a great baby shower gift. My take on the classic "Grandmother's Favorite" cloth begins with just one stitch and is worked corner to corner, increasing one stitch per row. Once the desired length of two sides is reached, cloth decreases by one stitch per row to complete the other two sides of the square. BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY You need to know how to knit and purl to be successful making this pattern. Some knowledge of increases and decreases doesn't hurt, either. GAUGE 10 sts and 9 ridges (18 rows) in garter stitch = approx. 2"/5 cm SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS Approx. 6.25"/16 cm square after blocking SUGGESTED YARN 40 yards of Worsted weight PREFERRED BRAND/YARN Bernat Handicrafter Cotton
