Pattern Details

These quick to knit booties are lots of fun to work in one color or two—just the motivation you need when a gifting deadline is on the horizon. Constructed in the round from the bottom up on two circular needles with several top cuff options, short row shaping combined with decreases ensures a snug, seamless fit. The pattern includes three sizes (S/M/L) to knit in worsted weight yarn that stretch to fit a wide range of feet and may be customized by adjusting needles up or down. These warm slippers are just what’s needed after a long day of outdoor winter activity; they also work well as boot liners. Hug the feet you love best by knitting up a cozy pair. Substituting yarn and/or needles may result in an overall variation in size and elasticity. Requires a little experience working short row shaping, working in the round on two circular needles, and working cables from charts. Suggested Yarns: Festivus 4.0 Worsted Cranberry Crush, Kent Worsted, Confection Worsted, or Better Breakfast Worsted Finished sizes of booties: 7(8, 9) inches in sole length to fit feet measuring up to 9(10, 11) inches from heel to toe Gauge: 20 sts and 30 rows = 4 inches in stockinette on gauge needles (unblocked) 18 sts and 30 rows = 4 inches in knit/purl body pattern on gauge needles (blocked)

I am the owner of Knitspot - knitting patterns, clubs, and artisan yarns. I am a life-long knitter with a background in the fashion and graphic design fields, and began designing clothing, knitwear and accessories during the 1970s. I teach and write about knitting, spinning, and designing at my blog, Knitspot. I live and work in Ohio with David, who loves wool, too. My design work/profile has been included in Knitty, The Knitter, Interweave Knits, and Twist Collective, Sock Club, Brave New Knits, as well as several upcoming publications. The complete catalog of Knitspot patterns is available for browsing and purchasing at Knitspot yarn clubs are reknowned for perfect pairings of luxury yarn and design, as well as the rollicking good fun in our Ravelry clubhouse where members meet, chat, and knit through club projects together. Our Bare Naked yarns are as close to the farm as a knitter can get, using fresh fiber produce from regional growers which is then spun into yarn at smaller artisan mills with which I have worked over the years. The collection is focused on single-breed pure wool yarns and exotic blends, with colors that range an entire array of natural tones—yarn the way nature made it.
