Alveare’s deep welts pile up like a iconic beehive, creating an irresistibly wearable slouchy Hat with an optional bobble. The alternating bands make for a simple, gratifying knit that shows the beauty of both sides of stocking stitch – choose a soft, smooth yarn such as this BFL singles for best effect. Worked from the bottom up in worsted weight, the pattern is written in 4 sizes and includes tutorials for two cast-on techniques and I-cord. Yarn: 134 (162, 197, 235) yd/123 (148, 180, 215) m 34yd/31m for a 6x6in/15x15cm swatch in St.St Worsted weight, single ply yarn.
