Q&A with Cookie Gaynor

Chantal.C asked:
lovely butterfly, I hope I shall be able to make my own quilting designs in a while. Thank you very much for sharing.
Cookie Gaynor answered:
I love quilting, too. If you have embroidery digitizing software, you will be able to make this design.
anne 727 asked:
can you tell me what embloidery hardware do i have to have .IS IT BUZZ EXPLORE?? I HAVE A JANOME 300e .look forward to hearing from you .ANNE
Cookie Gaynor answered:
Hardware would be an embroidery machine that can accommodate a 4 inch x 4 inch (100 mm x 100 mm hoop or larger. Software would include an embroidery digitizing software. Buzz Explore is a conversion software :)
MizWasy asked:
I have Sew What Pro and the software that came with my Singer FQ-4 (including autopunch - which takes clip art and auto digitizes it) -- or would I need something else?
Cookie Gaynor answered:
I have not worked specifically with Sew What Pro. I believe that software does editing, maybe converting, but I am not sure that it let's you create original designs . Auto digitizing is a feature and it comes with several packages on the market. You need to have a full digitizing package that let's you create designs without relying on auto tools. There are many digitizing packages on the market and most work with all the popular home embroidery machines.
jayde asked:
I have a Phaff Creative Vision. I'm thinking that machine should be able to what you will be teaching in the slass.
Cookie Gaynor answered:
Yes, your machine can stitch out the class designs! You need to have a 4x4 or larger hoop to stitch out the designs you create in your digitizing software . asked:
I assume this would be a good class to practice using EMBIRD and Embird Studio? I have them and have used them to transfer designs but not really done any digitizing - would you say the class would be easily used if you are familiar with EMBIRD?
Cookie Gaynor answered:
Certainly if you know any type of embroidery software, it helps the learning curve because of comfort level. Embird is no exception . For digitizing your own designs with the Embird product you will need to have the Embird Studio Add on. We do have some Embird users taking this class.
