Giant Panda Project + Variations

Share a little about the materials, processes and techniques used to create this piece. PanPastels (black, white and a range of greys), Charcoal Pencils (black & white), Carbon Pencil, White Soft Pastel Stick, Black Compressed Charcoal Stick (or Black Soft Pastel Stick), on Grey Mid-Tone Sanded Pastel Paper. Is the piece for sale? No What advice would you give someone starting this project? I uploaded my back-up drawing (example) that is 3/4 of the way done, as you can see there are always differences between two works even if the same photo is referenced. The Panda design is a fairly easy subject, but you can learn a lot by focusing on the subtle high and low key values. Try to challenge yourself and notice the little details that support a more realistic and exciting portrait and have fun!
