Q&A with Iwan Paul

Shelly SLC asked:
Very nice!
Iwan Paul answered:
thank you!
Donna Druchunas asked:
Great job! Those curved streets are so hard to draw. I love your marks for the cobblestones, too.
Iwan Paul answered:
Thank you! I thought the cobblestones was a fail, but maybe it's just all right =)
ginarubio asked:
Very noce!
Iwan Paul answered:
thanks!
James Richards asked:
Hi Iwan! I really like it! As an urban designer, I'm a sucker for vertical landmarks like the tower in the center--I think every town should have at least one. And I agree with Donna; curved streets can be tricky. If I could offer a couple of minor suggestions...I think you could use the cobblestone street to enhance the sense of depth by drawing the stones in the close foreground larger and with some detail (lines, dots), then making the stones smaller and less detailed as they get further away. Sometimes in situations like this, I'll put a very, very, very light wash of bluish purple over the distant tower and the background trees to help them recede further into the distance. These are very minor tweaks--its great work.
Iwan Paul answered:
Thanks for the compliments and suggestions! I'll keep those tips in mind for my next drawings. =)
