If you're looking to make a large, thick blanket, this is the pattern for you. The rays work up quickly, and the circular sun in the centre of the piece uses a broomstick stitch to add detail to catch the eye. This is also a great project for using up mismatched worsted-weight yarn. You will need 14-15 skeins of 100g/180m worsted weight yarn and a 6mm needle to complete this large afghan. The pattern uses sc, hdc, dc, broomstick, and puff/pineapple stitch (US crochet terms). I would say this is a beginner to advanced-beginner pattern. BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY sc, dc, hdc, broomstick, puff/pineapple stitch SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS 6 feet in diameter SUGGESTED YARN 2900 meters of Worsted weight
