Andy, I have had a Delta 14" Bandsaw with the optional riser block and an upgraded 1 HP motor for a good 40+ years. Your class made me realize how much of it's capability I was unaware of and therefore missing out on using it to it's full capability. I have only good things to say about your presentation. My feedback or comment relates back to my vague recollection of a memory from my two year General Electronics course that I took at a local trade school oh so many years ago. It relates to magnetized objects and magnets themselves. I seem to recall that exposing magnetized objects to the constantly reversing magnetic field surrounding an AC conductor will render them un-magnetized, as an example the de-gauseing coils used to demagnetize early CRT based color TV screens. I guess I could Google this to see if my recollection is correct but hey, how often to I get to send a message to a woodworking legend like yourself. To the point; will using permanent magnets to secure your bandsaw lamp-cord to the saw frame to keep it out of the way, exposing the magnets close to the constantly reversing magnetic field generated by the 60 Htz AC lamp cord, eventually render the magnets un-magnetized and have you wondering what in the heck happened to my magnets? Just curious. Anybody know for sure? Thanks for a very informative and well-done course. Tom
