I always loved to draw as a child and count myself lucky to be a professional artist. I mostly paint in oil, but still enjoy drawing in graphite and charcoal. I sometimes work on location in watercolor and also sketch with pen and ink. My specialty is animals, but I paint a variety of subjects, including landscapes and people. I have a BFA Illustration from the Academy of Art University and have studied with nationally known artists such as John Seerey-Lester and Scott Christensen. I’m a member of the Society of Animal Artists and serve on their board of directors and also belong to the American Academy of Equine Art and American Women Artists. My work has been accepted into a variety of national juried shows since 2003. I’ve traveled to Mongolia since 2005 and that is where I get the subjects that inspire my paintings. Home is Redwood Country on the north coast of California.
